Waste not want not was the theme of this morning’s preview of L designed by Linda Lundström. Since stepping away from her namesake label Lundström three years ago, it was a simple birthday gift of a leather scarf to her daughter Mosha Lundström Halbert that inspired the designer to create this collection. Maintaining much of the skins natural form, the new line has a rustic feel and was presented on natural elements such as wood branches.
There’s an organic progression to the pieces as left over scraps are transformed into wearable accessories. I’m already lusting after the metallic cuffs! Lundström’s offering is a well edited capsule that includes luxe coyote, indigo dyed fox and supple beaver furs alongside the leather accessories and vests. Important to note that the beaver furs are all Canadian and the leathers sustainable. Since each pelt is left in much of its original state, many of the pieces are one of a kind.
