What happens when Sesame Street shuts down for the night? Lady Gaga (and her saxophone playing buddy) let loose. Take the mock street set, add a red spotlight, a few smoke machines and a cameraman, and you’ve got Gaga’s latest video effort The Edge of Glory.
Decked out in a Cruella de Vil meets 80’s video girl ensemble, the dressed up Monster makes her spiked out get-up look like silk but in a way only Gaga could pull off. Borrowed from the Versace archives, Gaga tributes the late Gianni by channeling her inner style icon and echos the designer’s love for strong female artists (aka Madonna).
But why the simple video with only one costume? Perhaps Gaga’s getting tired of all those outfit changes. Hopefully we’ll see the CFDA-approved style icon bring a little vintage Versace to the MMVAs this weekend. Now click and watch you little monsters.
