The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Singapore Tuesday morning, kicking off their tour of Asia and the South Pacific in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. And to no one’s surprise Kate Middleton arrived in style.
The royal wore a kimono-style Jenny Packham dress with an orchid design for her first appearance, a naming ceremony for the Vanda William Catherine orchid, a flower named in their honour. Kate then made a quick outfit change for the welcome ceremony and state dinner, donning a gorgeous Prabal Gurung featuring a purple floral print.
The Duchess has been taking notes from royals before her, who often honour their host countries with clothes representative of the nation. Gurung was born in Singapore—though he was raised in Nepal, while the orchids on the Jenny Packham dress represented the tiny republic’s national flower.
