Toronto’s Yonge and Eglinton neighbourhood has been undergoing a makeover for a while, and now Karl Lagerfeld is part of it. Chanel’s head designer is partnering with two real estate developers to design residential lobby spaces in the busy area.

The collaboration with CD Capital Developments and Freed Developments marks Lagerfeld’s first-ever major project in the Canadian market, and his first condo project in North America. “What I really like is what I’ve never done before,” Lagerfeld said via press release. “I am always looking for opportunities to expand my range of creative expression, and am excited by the opportunity to design this in Toronto.”

Art Shoppe Lofts + Condos will include two spaces called Lobbies by Karl Lagerfeld, with furniture, finishings and other features selected by the renowned German designer. May we suggest Chanel-quilted couches, Chanel No. 5 instead of air freshener, and double-C-shaped scratching posts (should Choupette drop by for a visit)?
