The time and cost required to find that perfect balance of work appropriate clothes that don’t sacrifice your style is complicated business. Dress for Success Canada aims to help women do just that– with an expansive closet full of suits, shoes and jewellery that gives women go-get-‘em workplace attire and practical career advice. Thankfully, Canadian fashion icon Jeanne Beker and her line Edit for the Hudson’s Bay Company teamed up to donate a portion of the proceeds from every sale of her signature Jeanne jeans.

At an afternoon tea party last week, Beker presented the $50,000 dollar cheque. One lucky candidate was styled by the Canadian icon herself and received two brand new outfits in order to start a new job–and a new wardrobe.

Jeanne’s number one piece of advice? “To thine own self be true.” No matter how corporate-chic you get, when you look into the mirror your own personality must shine. Shoes, says the past Fashion Television host, are the ultimate starting point and a little bit of heel can elevate not only your height but your confidence too. Now that’s career advice we can stand behind.
