Lady Gaga has been on an impressive style streak lately. The previously OTT dresser (meat gown, Kermit coat, oversized headpieces errrday) has noticeably toned down her costume vibes in favour of an edgy sophistication championed by her stylist, Brandon Maxwell. We love the new direction, but one thing we’re loving even more is her new-found appreciation for Canadian fashion.
Last month Lady Gaga was spotted in fresh-off-the-runway Beaufille, the cool-girl fashion label started by Canadian sisters Chloe and Parris Gordon, and this week the self-proclaimed “Countess” Instagrammed a snap of herself in a sexy cutout dress by Toronto up-and-comer Matthew Gallagher.
“Her styling office contacted me a couple of weeks ago out of the blue,” Gallagher tells us. “I wasn’t sure she would wear anything but when I checked her Instagram, she was in my dress!” His secret for getting discovered? “I have to be thankful to social media for exposing me to a much larger audience,” he says. “I’d like to say there was some sort of recipe for this kind of pull but it was, quite simply, luck!”

The only question left is: Who will be next?
