ICYMI, Vetements basically broke the runway yesterday in Paris, when the buzzy label opened spring ’17 couture week with a whole lot of heft behind the hullabaloo. We knew it was coming: on Friday, The New York Times had the exclusive that designer Demna Gvasalia would capitalize on the crazy success of his logo-subverting DHL t-shirt and the like with a 17-brand collaboration collection—which included two looks done in collabo with our very own Canada Goose. (Iconic brands such as Levi’s, Manolo Blahnik, Carhartt and Juicy Couture, among others, also paired with Vetements for the show.) And while a rouge velvet Juicy Couture catsuit enjoyed much of the Snap chatter, those of us still basking in Canada Day pride took special pleasure in an outsized, flag-red Canada Goose puffer—a riff on the CG’s Snow Maven style—that closed the show. F-cking eh.
