Beautiful, eye-catching and too cool for school—wait are we talking about the clothes or the boys?

Last night at a mini-bash hosted by The Room at The Bay, the Canadian fashion elite came out in droves to fete design label Proenza Schouler. The label’s designers, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, showed up (as shy as they were) and greeted the fan frenzy.

Hit with the summer heat, we chatted with a few party-goers who shared their style tips for the season and the Proenza Schouler piece they have to have (or at least dream about):

Kimberly Lyn, blogger for The Souls of My Shoes
What does summer style mean to you?
“Easy, fresh and flowy dressing…as well as practicality [as we] try to beat the heat.”
Which Proenza Schouler piece is on your wish list?
“The shoes. There’s a dark green laser-cut pair from their Fall/Winter 2011, as well as they have a couple laser-cut sandals that are flat with laces up the front which are really nice.”

Andrea Dart, publicist at Weber Shandwick
What does summer style mean to you?
“Effortless and cool. Anything that you can wear and just walk out in without looking like you’ve put too much effort”
Which Proenza Schouler piece is on your wish list?
“The peep toe booties. I was hoping they would be here because I saw them online — I have my eye on them.”

Natalie Blouin, hair and makeup artist at Plutino Group
Which Proenza Schouler piece is on your wish list?
“I love their bag line–the PS1. The black one is definitely the one I want”

Ashley Bartlett, publicist at Strategic Objectives
What does summer style mean to you?
“Summer style means Breton stripes, popsicle brights, sky-high wedges, white Converse, and a wardrobe of quirky sunnies.”
Which Proenza Schouler piece is on your wish list?
“I’m still coveting the tie-dye scuba dress from spring 2011, but I guess that ship has sailed. They’ve updated the print for the season so I’d love to slip into one of the floaty sheath dresses in citron yellow or tangerine. Sublime.”

Jaclyn Locke, photographer
What does summer style mean to you?
“Being comfortable, sexy and not sweating!”
