The newest Hermès bag makes a plum fall statement

Hermès is famous for naming their timeless handbags after ever-so timeless women. You have your Birkin, your Constance, your Kelly, but who, may we ask is Catenina, the name of the luxury label’s latest creation?  An Italian starlet not yet on our radar? A quick call-in to the House confirmed that the style takes it’s name not from a style icon, but from the Italian expression for “thin chain”. How fitting. The slim flap bag features a dainty “catenina” strap that would look lovely hanging from a delicate shoulder, or worn as a clutch with the chain left to dangle over the wrist. Either way you wear it, the tailored shape feels modern for fall and the unexpected hue would surely pop amongst the sea of camel coats. With such a neutral season ahead, the Catenina would be a plum statement.

Hermès Swift calfskin leather “Catenina” bag, $5,950. At Hermès boutiques.
