If Brave New World and 1984 are ever remade into films—or if Margaret Atwood‘s thrilling MaddAddam trilogy has a go—Rick Owens should design the footwear. Eerily dystopian, yet chic and sporty, the Rick Owens for Adidas collaboration features a raised futuristic silhouette, oversized leather tongues and an execution which can only be described as highly visionary.
The four models are offered in a monochromatic palette of black, white and beige with Owens’ signature leatherwork incorporated into the sneaker’s interior, which are made solely of leather materials. Priced higher than previous designer collaborations—like McQueen’s capsule with estranged brother company Puma—these luxe sneakers are sure to give anyone street style envy. Now that Nike has parted ways with Kanye West, and Adidas has scooped him up, we can imagine it’s only a matter of time before West himself starts rocking these kicks in the front row. Or even better… KimYe.
