Last night, Toronto’s fashion set put on their most vertiginous heels to welcome amazonian designer L’Wren Scott to The Bay’s The Room. As guests meandered around the Scott’s Tuxedo Terrace Fall 2010 and Sunset Serengeti Spring 2011 collections, we took note of the unofficial dress code of the evening. Seems most ladies got the designer’s disiplined dress (just hitting the knee, please) memo and came accordingly sheathed. The lovely L’Wren looked every bit the former Chanel and Thierry Mugler model in a black silk tuxedo jacket, Victorian blouse and sequin pencil skirt – all from her label. She graciously worked the room, making everyone stand a little taller in her presence. Having met her, I can tell you it’s not just her height that has this affect, but her regal sophistication. The same could be said of her clothes.
