Sex The future of contraception may involve the flick of a switch. According to ELLE, pre-clinical trials are set to commence next year on an as-of-yet unnamed contraceptive implant that can be activated and deactivated via wireless remote control. The implant, which is basically a controlled-release microchip, is designed to be inserted beneath the skin of the backside, arm or abdomen and can last as long as 16 years. If all goes well, the product could be available by 2018.
