“I have always loved using skins in my collections,” shared Sunny Fong designer of Vawk, one of Canada’s leading womenswear labels. And that’s exactly the focus for his new Spring 2012 collection set to walk down the runway at Toronto Fashion Week on October 20.

Here, the designer gives us a first look at a moth-inspired piece made of suede in a tie-dye pattern. Remixing insects and architecture, Fong’s contemporary collection titled Insectica, will certainly make the skin crawl this coming season.

Sunny Fong’s Spring 2012 inspirations (and a few hints!):
1.  “Organic curves and sharp lines of various insects”
2.  “Modern architecture”
3.  Shades of “blush and seafoam”
4.  Materials include leathers and linen
5.  Artists Frank Gehry and Mies van der Rohe
