Paris: Chanel Fall 2013
Le Grand Palais
The Chanel woman has a reputation of being a restless jetsetter—a globetrotter who, always chicly-attired, slinks from one glamorous destination to the next. This season, head designer-in-charge Karl Lagerfeld took that idea literally, installing a gigantic rotating globe in the middle of the Grand Palais (little Chanel flags were even situated everywhere the brand is sold on the map). As for the collection, it was darker than usual, with Chanel’s signature tweeds done in all shades of black.
