Question: What is the best way to wear a skirt to work in the winter—with boots, or tights and heels?
Answer: It depends on the skirt style and length. A-line skirts that fall above the knee can be worn with different boot styles—from chic patent ankle to a high stacked heel. Choose tights that are luxe in feel—an opaque charcoal grey a la Burberry Prorsum, dark navy or black is best. Hue has a great range of neutrals all under $15. Avoid a mukluk style boot—you’ll end up looking like a tween. With a pencil skirt, an edgy tall ankle boot (one that rises above the ankle) is street chic at its best. Rock this look with a pair of dark tights. Another way to stay cozy is to work a platform Mary Jane heel or pump with a ribbed tight. This combo works for all types of skirts—pencil, mini and A-line.
