Question: I have a great pair of stilettos that I have never worn and want to. The problem is, I am not sure what to wear them with. They are Stuart Weitzman “Fever” black patent with a stainless heel and are very pointy. I have a function at the end of the month- what should I buy to wear with the heels? I’m petite with a boyish figure.
Answer: Choose a dress that doesn’t overpower your frame and works with other items in your closet. The runways were filled with pretty dresses. Opt for a slim-fitting jewel tone dress that falls to the knee with a cap sleeve. It’s versatile to wear to the office and for after-five social events and will be perfect with your heels.  Although a nude leg is always chic, we spied sheer black hose on the catwalk in lieu of last season’s black opaque tight.

Question: What kind of coat should I invest in this season?
Answer: Keep in mind your lifestyle before you make the splurge- are you on the move throughout the day? Do you have a long commute? This will determine the kind of coat to buy. In terms of style, go for drama- either in the colour or details. Vibrant hues with a lot of emphasis on military detailing- oversize gold buttons, epaulettes, wide belts, made a splash on the runway. Other trends to look for? Voluminous collars, nipped waists, full skirts, and details such as pleating, ruching, studding, and texture. Make sure the coat has a warm lining and that it fits properly. Try it on with a middle-weight sweater to ensure a ‘real’ fit.

Question: I’m wanting to buy a new pair of jeans. I keep hearing about the high-waisted jean-does that apply to all styles?
Answer: The high waist is popping up on all styles of jeans- from the skinny stovepipe, lean trouser and super wide leg. The wide leg is super hot right now (we love J. Brand and Seven)–we saw models backstage at the spring/summer shows sporting these with trim preppy blazers and converse sneakers. Fit is key with this flowing style- make sure it works with your body type. Avoid tie closures if you have a protruding belly- they will only accentuate it.
