For all those who didn’t get a fashion week invite this year, we’ve heard your cry. From the high-concept catwalks to the A-list attendees, the hype is real. NYFW always kicks off the season, and then the international action continues with London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and Milan Fashion Week. And as the weeks go on, everywhere you scroll on social media is another reminder that people go to celeb parties and watch models on the runway for a living.  Since this isn’t the reality for us all, we came up with a way to live vicariously through the fashion elite.

Try these five fashion week hacks to cure your case of FOMO.

Stream live shows on YouTube

The only difference between your view and Chiara Ferrgani’s will be the 13-in. screen you’re looking through. Thanks to YouTube and their past partner, Maybelline, enthusiasts like yourself can enjoy views from the FROW live during fashion week. And when your favourite bloggers are tweeting at the show, join the convo with your own critiques.

Shop runway looks

What’s the ultimate cure for fashion week FOMO? Retail therapy, of course. Get ahead of the game and join the see now, buy now movement. Gone are the days of waiting months before runway looks are available for purchase—instant gratification is trending and we’re here for it. Brands like Tom Ford, Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren have dabbled with shoppable runway for their fashion fans.

Visit the Patricia Harris Gallery of Textiles & Costume at the Royal Ontario Museum

Get a history lesson on fashion design at the ROM’s Textile and Costume gallery, and be enchanted by the 200+ fashion artifacts displayed. As the saying goes, “You have to know your past to understand your future.” Who said fashion wasn’t philosophical? Save the airfare to Paris and plan a visit to the upcoming Christian Dior exhibit.

Go behind the scenes with Snapchat

Reach new style stalking heights through Snapchat, and follow brands like @alexanderwangny, @gucci, @rebeccaminkoff and @hmusa to see model takeovers and makeup artist runway tutorials. In between selfies and filter fun, you’ll probably also see a glimpse or two of the looks, pre-show.

Follow fashion VIPs on Instagram

If you’re not already doing this then get that follow button prepped. Ever go through your timeline and feel like your besties with your fave blogger? It’s almost like they’ve given you a visual rundown of their whole life. Best believe you’ll find them at all the major shows this season, so to ensure you don’t miss a second of the fashion week action, follow these trendsetting elites: @songsofstyle, @alexachung, @bryanboycom, @shionat, @JuneAmbrose, @patmcgrathreal, @chrisellelim, @theblondesalad.
