My home base in London was the brand new, centrally located South Place Hotel. Built just last year by the restaurant group D&D London, the hotel is modern in design (there are touch pads for lighting and temperature control) but still manages to be charming and cozy. Service was top notch, and the rooms are spacious and include thoughtful touches such as luxe toiletries from Janes Heeley and artwork from London-based talents. The majority of shows in London are held at the Somerset House and at the Topshop Show Space, which this year was at a section called The Tanks at the Tate Modern. At Somerset House, there was everything from a M.A.C Cosmetics lounge to a Tony&Guy blowout bar to keep us entertained between shows. The media lounge, with its comfy chairs and never-ending supply of cappucinos, quickly became my favourite place to run during breaks in the schedule.
