Canadian designers take part in a runway show with respect for elders

Last week, Erin Kleinberg and Jay Godfrey, two Canadian design talents that have quickly made their mark abroad, took part in a spirited fashion show, BAC2Fashion: The Remix. The cause in question was very worthy, yet oft-overlooked: helping senior citizens living in poverty and lacking community support. As volunteers took to the stage in designs like those by Godfrey and Kleinberg, this exclusive event raised over $33 000. The funds will be used by the UJA of Greater Toronto to provide vital services such as meals on wheels, new clothing and support programs for the elderly in need. The evening was a great reminder of how fashion can be used to make a difference.
