Fall 2010's Splurgiest Finds

FLARE's Fashion Interns tell us how they'll be investing their money

In a season dominated by austere looks and Phoebe Philo’s new minimalism, we came to thinking about how we’ll be spending our money for Fall. When it comes to investing in your wardrobe, it’s all about splurging on those unique, yet ultimately wearable pieces. Here’s what FLARE’s flock of Fashion Interns had to say on the matter:

For Melissa Tran, the answer was simple: “This is the time of year when you can downplay your actual outfit and let your outerwear do the talking”. Rightfully so in her choice, Burberry’s coveted shearling aviator jacket. Daniela diStefano was on the same wavelength, thinking about practicality overall, with a versatile riding boot from MICHAEL Michael Kors. Both Marcella Hall and Josh Gencarelli were thinking classic with a twist – with an updated LBD from Marc by Marc, and an embellished cardigan by DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, respectively.

Sam Boudreau, Cailtin Agnew and Liselle Fernandez were all about accessories, accessories, accessories. With fur dominating runways this season, it’s little surprise that the Oscar de la Renta beret and Marc Jacobs Edie bag made the cut. But from Daidra Richards we’re feeling Tom Ford fever, and her choice, a lipstick from the Private Blend Collection, “is sure to be a head-turning, gotta have, purse staple”!
