As we entered the arts-themed space it was clear this Banana Republic preview was going to be a cut above previous seasons. Always held in a unique NYC venue, we found ourselves exploring the vast space at Cedar Lake, current home to the Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and previously owned by Annie Leibovitz.

Clean-cut and traditional is the best way to describe the Banana Republic Fall 2013 collection. The running theme of collegiate arts club translated into sleek tailoring accompanied by structured bags and faux fur for luxe polish. Classic prints like houndstooth and windowpane check made an appearance while holiday pieces were rich in bright hues.

Statement jewelry is a BR signature and paired nicely with day-to-night cocktail frocks. Beauty notes included a perfectly faint smoky eye and lightly stained lip. Preppy heritage pieces for the men with an unexpected twist will have us borrowing from the boys this season.
