Coming off a Womenswear Designer of the Year win at the Canadian Art and Fashion Awards (CAFAs) in January, Mikhael Kale is one of the buzziest Canadian designers to watch. Although his fall/winter collection will kick off Toronto’s World MasterCard Fashion Week on Monday, he’s been posting shots on his Instagram, revealing richly detailed embellishment and a seemingly spring-inspired palette with touches of deep eggplant and navy. The inspiration behind the collection, says Kale, is a “contemplation of fragments from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s understood through a futurist lens.” He shared the following final images exclusively with FLARE. We can’t wait to see the entire collection on the runway next week!
