EXCLUSIVE: FLARE Directs a Dolce & Gabbana Photo Shoot

To celebrate two new fragrances, FLARE flew to New York City to stage our very own ultra–Dolce & Gabbana tableaux on the rooftop of a $30-million Manhattan townhouse

With only three weeks of summer left, we’re clinging to every last moment of ice-cold cocktails, late nights in the park and tiny crop tops.

It’s times like these that we reach for a breezy scent to help hold onto those warm-weather feelings. This season yielded two limited-edition variants on Dolce & Gabbana’s best-selling, classic Light Blue: Escape to Panarea for women, and Discover Vulcano for men. Taking inspiration from their namesake islands off the coast of Sicily, both burst with oh-so-summery, crisp citrus tones, while sexy amber and musk notes pulse underneath.

To celebrate this pair of fresh scents, FLARE flew to New York City to stage our very own ultra–Dolce & Gabbana tableaux on the rooftop of a $30-million Manhattan townhouse. Light Blue’s campaign stars, David Gandy and Bianca Balti, posed like the seasoned pros that they are, despite the 40-degree scorcher, moving silently in sync after so many days shooting the official campaign together with Mario Testino in Capri.

Foxy, young fashion photographer Victor Demarchelier (son of Patrick) captured our scene, and the resulting image pops with the Italian sensuality, bold colours and luxe patterns the label is known for. (The sum total of styling direction? “Bikini! Caftan!”)

Spritz on a little Escape to Panarea while you can: the limited-edition juices (available at Hudson’s Bay, Holt Renfrew, Shoppers Drug Mart, Jean Coutu, Sephora and Dolce & Gabbana boutiques, $77–$100) will soon go the way of our woefully short summer—vanished all too soon.
