"The Greatest Milliner in the World"
Since starting his millinery business in Isabella Blow's basement, Philip Treacy has been the mad hatter for every boldfaced name of the past three decades—from Grace Jones to Kate Middleton. He's also injected wit into the collections of Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen and Giorgio Armani, among many others. This season, he presented his own runway show during London Fashion Week: a sensational event in which the all-black cast of models wore Michael Jackson's costumes and Lady Gaga played hostess, announcing Treacy as "the greatest milliner in the world." March marks the release of Philip Treacy (Phaidon), a 20-year collaboration with photographer Kevin Davies that lifts the veil on the designer's enchanting career.
