Hometown hero designer Jeremy Laing is well known for his artist collaborations. And for his latest spring collection, presented this fall in New York and Toronto, he worked with Julia Dault to craft prints (one of which was inspired by his childhood love of Tiger Tail ice cream—also a personal favourite of my seven-year-old self).
While you’ll have to wait a few months longer to get your hands on anything Laing x Dault, the prolific designer has partnered with another Toronto-based creative, artist Micah Lexier, on a capsule collection of scarves that is available right now at The Drake General Store and the Harbourfront Centre’s Power Plant gallery. Lexier’s own work is currently enjoying a major exhibition at the latter: One, and Two, and More Than Two surveys the artist’s diverse work and its reflection of his creative process.
Laing’s scarves offer a little piece of Lexier’s work in the form of wearable art. You’ll have to purchase all four limited edition styles to own the complete masterpiece: each scarf is just a quarter of the total image.
