We never really considered walking down the aisle in a mustard yellow suit and black veiled chapeau but alas, here we are. Model, actress, activist and swimwear designer, Emily Ratajkowski, got hitched without warning (or even, as far as we understand, much of an engagement) on February 23 and her City Hall ensemble of a belted suit, black fedora with a cage veil and single-strap black sandals was majorly chic and gave us all the ’70s feels—oh, and it rings in at around $230 Canadian dollars.
Ratajkowski and her new-ish man, a film producer named Sebastian Bear-McClard, eloped in New York City alongside a handful of guests including social media personality The Fat Jewish who sported a Planned Parenthood sweatsuit for the nuptials.
The new wife shared a bunch of pics from her special day on her Instagram stories including a selfie with her baby blue suit-clad hubby along with the caption “I got married today.” In the pic, Bear-McClard’s wears his new wedding band along with two other rings that read “EM” and “RATA.” (“Emrata” is, of course, Ratajkowski’s social media handle. Love in the time of Instagram, amiright?)
But back to the suit. Did we mention both the long belted jacket ($150) and flared trousers ($80) are currently in stock online in almost every single size? We don’t know about you but a matching coloured suit, matrimonial or otherwise, was already on our spring wish list so may we suggest you run, don’t walk, to Zara to snag Ratajkowski’s wedding suit immeds. Thank us later.
