Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate the occasion than with the latest collaboration from Style & Conscience that’s made straight from the heart. Style & Conscience, the locally produced and socially responsible clothing line run by Montréal Couture, connects local designers with nonprofit organizations to create one-of-a-kind pieces that benefit great causes.
The latest collaboration has paired Canadian design star Denis Gagnon with The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Quebec—fitting, we think, considering that February is heart month. The “Je vous M” collection was designed and developed using a unique collaborative process that unites the Style & Conscience’s Twitter and Facebook fans for two online co-creation sessions that allow the public to weigh in on the designs. Gangon’s goal was to re-invent the notion of the Heart & Stroke Foundation: instead of using big red hearts the designer developed a handbag, keychain and scarf that embody the message of the foundation but feel fresh and modern.
The collection will be sold exclusively on the Style & Conscience web site through March 6 with twenty per cent of the total sales benefiting the research projects of the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
