Rihanna is teaming up with Armani Jeans once again to produce a second line for the label. Being Rihanna, this is hardly your ordinary denim collaboration. The range will incorporate the fabric in everything from a jumpsuit to bags and even a pair of blues lined with tartan. At the MET Gala, Rihanna discussed her desire to design a label of her own, mentioning that she’s already started on the label.
Sweden’s Nudie Jeans, known for their raw denim, has announced that their Fall 2012 line will be made exclusively from one hundred percent organic cotton in an attempt to go green. The brand’s attempts at a more sustainable product began six years ago, and don’t stop there – they also plan to use nontoxic dye, make labels from organic recycled paper and zippers from raw copper. Better yet, the organic fits will also be available at the same price point.
Everyone loves a denim purchase that makes them look good, but what about one that makes you feel good too? Canada’s own Bluenotes is pairing up with the Cure Foundation for a good cause on May 15th – National Denim Day. For every pair of jeans sold, they’ll be donating $1 to the Cure, which works to end the fight against breast cancer. For every pair sold during that week, Bluenotes stores will also be donating pairs to charities within their respective communities.
