Daphne Guinness Gives Window Dressing A Whole New Meaning

One of the first guests to grace the red carpet at last night’s Met ball was none other than fashion risk taker Daphne Guinness. With hours to prepare, Guinness decided the best way to reveal her ensemble was to change in the legendary Barneys window on Madison Ave. Behind frosted glass, and with the help of her well-heeled assistant, Guinness gracefully stepped into her feathered gown designed by Sarah Burton from Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2011 show.

The performance art piece is the first of six installments expected from Guinness throughout the coming weeks–all to be livestreamed on the retailer’s website.
