Danier crowns a winner in the 2011 Design Challenge

The leather purveyor names Andrea Dineen the winner of this year’s Danier Design Challenge

As we told you before, Danier, the Canadian purveyor of all things leather, launched a dynamic challenge this fall in search of rising design talent. After a panel of fashion insiders narrowed the group of 75 third year Ryerson students down to the top ten finalists, the winner—that was selected based on your votes—was announced last night at an intimate ceremony.

Ontario native Andrea Dineen took home the top prize for her leather confection that used contrasting leathers and a unique hand printed surface design to create a one of a kind topper. The young design star received a cash prize, but the real honour is the opportunity to have her masterpiece sold at select Danier stores this fall.
