New York-based Alexander Wang is the next designer to pair up with H&M. The young talent (he’s only 30!) and creative director for Balenciaga announced the collab on Saturday at midnight EST via the @alexanderwangny brand’s first-ever Instagram post. Following in the footsteps of the industry’s biggest names, including Isabel Marant, Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney, Wang is the first American designer to partner with the Swedish über brand.
For the one-off line, Wang will design accessories and apparel for both men and women to launch in 250 H&M stores and online. In his video announcement, the cult-cool designer set a digital scoreboard to count down to his November 6 launch date. We guarantee he’s not the only one counting down. —Carly Ostroff
