From Paris to Japan, Karl Lagerfeld and the team at Chanel are heading East for a very special engagement this spring. The revival project, led by Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel’s president of fashion, is an effort to re-boost and reinvigorate the Japanese market with an event that will be on everyone’s lips this March.
On the schedule so far, Lagerfeld will bring his winter couture collection, which is set to walk in Paris next week, over to Japan for a second showing. The 3-day event, which begins March 21, will include the private presentation, an exclusive pop-up shop with limited edition items and the opening of “The Little Black Jacket” exhibit. The installation will showcase over 100 photos of fashion notables donning the classic Coco Chanel design, which coincides with the house’s new book of the same title, written by Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld.
