Canada’s own Zoran Dobric has designed an exclusive capsule collection for London arts showcase, Sex and Death. The show, which includes a gallery and curated shop, brings together the worlds of art and fashion, featuring garments, jewellery, textiles, sculptures, printmaking and paintings, all in one place.
Dobric’s capsule for the show uses the designer’s signature on-trend digi-prints, intricate beading, delicate lace and hand-painted motifs to explore the show’s dark theme: “My concept is to show stylized, abstracted bodies in a metamorphosis between sex and death, on a Byzantine gold background. The pieces in lace, print, and beading evoke the mourning attire of a bygone age and histology.”
Couture pieces from Chanel and designs by Vivienne Westwood are also on display, alongside installations from art director Petra Storrs, whose client list includes Lady Gaga and Florence and the Machine.
Sex and Death runs from May 15 to June 5 [20 Earlham Street].
