In the wake of a host of designers taking their wares to China—most recently Diane von Furstenberg—Burberry is headed for this fast-growing fashion market
The iconic British brand has just opened a 12,500 square foot store in Beijing’s Sparkle Roll Plaza and is celebrating the April 13th grand opening with futuristic fashion-meets-technology extravaganza. The show will feature headlining rock band, Keane, many top Burberry models and even holographic images. Though DVF may have preferred a more understated affair—think a lavish Red Ball in Shanghai, followed by a celeb-studded dress exhibition in Beijing’s art district—Burberry has opted to take over the Beijing Television Centre for their one-night-only show.
