Cue the air kissing and roll back the plastic — Montreal Fashion Week kicks off today.
The four-day “week” will feature the work of established designers from near (Marie Saint Pierre, Helmer, Ève Gravel) and not-so-far (Toronto’s David Dixon), as well as some fresh (and much appreciated) fashion blood in the form of up-and-comers like Iris Setlakwe, Paria Lambina and Wesley Badanjak (with his Toronto-based label LOVAS).
What’s more, this season Montreal Fashion Week is opening its doors to all fashion enthusiasts—both literally and virtually.
In addition to having the chance to purchase last-minute tickets and visit Le Showroom (where 50 national and international designers will set up shop from September 28–30 to showcase their current collections), the general public can catch select shows that will steam live online. Among them: Muse by Christian Chenail (Monday, September 27, at 7:30 p.m.), Second Clothing (Tuesday, September 28, at 9:00 p.m.), Soia & Kyo (Wednesday, September 29, at 9 p.m.) and Barilà (Thursday, September 30, at 9:30 p.m.).
Check back tomorrow for all the highlights from Day 1.
