It was a ’60s throwback last night on the runway as Joe Fresh debuted a bold collection of warm autumn hues in nouveau silhouettes for Fall 2012. Top Canadian models Anais Pouliot and Meghan Collison (aka the face of Prada’s spring campaign) walked the walk on the runway, while label regulars Tara Gill, Heather Marks, Kate King and Alana Zimmer joined in on the all-Canadian cast.
Oxblood red, royal blue and a hint of rich mustard were the main shades seen on the runway. Key fabrics included tweeds, silks and leathers with just a touch of fur. Prints were kept to a minimum with only a graphic black and white houndstooth on a few mod-style looks that closed out the show, plus a psychedelic head-to-toe ensemble that seemed out of place.
With obvious nods to luxury labels like Burberry, Céline and Salvatore Ferragamo, the Canadian big box shop continues to bring those must-have cuts and styles to store fronts popping up across North America.
