Obsessed with street style? There’s nothing better than clicking across the web and discovering a new site that livens up your personal style–especially when it’s made in Canada. Fashion East Halifax spotlights some of our nation’s top style setters in casual and cool ensembles inspired by their calm surroundings. Photographers Krista Comeau, Meghan Tansey Whitton and Melissa Dubé run the sleek Tumblr page posting updates on the regular of off-duty students and trendy locals. Here we get to know the trio behind one of Canada’s best (and undiscovered) street style blogs:

The Back Story: “We wanted to create a visual journal of the eclectic style in the Maritimes. The collaboration came about because we all have photography backgrounds and a broad perspective of fashion.”

Defining East Coast Style: “Layering different fabrics, patterns and colours is something we see a lot of due to the flux in our coastal climate. Upcycling clothes, mixing old with new pieces creates a very diverse style which is part of what makes it so great to shoot on the streets of Halifax.”

On The Look Out: “When people wear something they love unapologetically its very striking and it comes across in the photos.”

Local Design Stars
: “Some local shops and designers that we adore are J&R Grimsmo, Biscuit General Store and thrift or consignment stores like Elsie’s, Lost & Found, Fancy Lucky Vintage, Make New Vintage and P.E.I.’s designer sisters Dream Boat Lucy.”
