Behind-the-Scenes: "Freeze Frame" Photo Shoot

With top photographer Tommy Ton, we reveal the details from our on-location fashion shoot in NYC.

Sweltering heat, rogue taxis, and a barrage of pedestrian traffic. While Flare photo shoots yield glamourous results, the actual process isn’t always so pretty. In the high peak of summer, streetstyle photographer extraordinaire Tommy Ton captured the must-have accessories for Fall, for October’s Freeze Frame. With the bustling streets of New York City as our backdrop, our courageous model, Alisa Bachurina (Women), endured stifling temperatures to showcase killer thigh-high boots, textured handbags, and weighty statement jewelry.

Our intrepid team included homegrown hair and makeup artist Veronica Chu (Plutino), who divides her time between Toronto and New York, and who doubled as our behind-the-scenes snapper – talk about multi-tasking.

The thrill of shooting guerilla-style in a real-world setting prevented a sudden afternoon downpour from dampening spirits. The end result? A hit parade of the season’s most-wanted extras.
