Always a highlight of the Toronto Fashion Week schedule, Arthur Mendonça delivered a strong lineup at David Pecaut Square last night to celebrate his tenth anniversary. “The first collection I ever launched was during Toronto Fashion Week in 2002,” Mendonça told us backstage before the show. While some things have changed in the last decade, others remain the same. “I love the jumpsuits in the line,” says Mendonça. “I just realized that my first show ever, 10 years ago, I opened with a jumpsuit!”
Besides some very covetable jumpsuits, Mendonça mostly showed suiting separates and cocktail dresses for spring, highlighting an Asian influence and sharp silhouettes along the way. We loved the slouchy suits in light colours, head-to-toe looks in optic white, and statement-making leather and obi belts sprinkled throughout the collection.
