Marc Jacobs: On Fashion, Fragrance & More
Innovative provocateur. Art lover. Gossip-page staple. Marc Jacobs, 49, is one of a handful of creators firmly established at the pinnacle of the notoriously fickle fashion world. With fashion, fragrance and a stash of coveted It bags, he’s conquered the peaks of both New York (with his eponymous collections) and Paris (for Louis Vuitton), for which he was honoured last year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) with their prestigious Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. (In 1987, at the age of 23, Jacobs was the youngest designer ever to win the CFDA Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent.) But he’s not finished, not even close. We met Jacobs at his New York studio where he debuted Dot, his latest scent with Coty.
