EMILY KINNEY (Beth)
Hair and Makeup
We wear so many layers: we are constantly carrying knives, guns, belts, bags, so it gets really heavy! The belt really makes it difficult to run. I find hair and makeup in the post-apocalyptic world freeing. I like not having to worry about those things being perfect. We are just no makeup, covered in dirt, the grosser the better.
I always find it amusing to see the zombies in full blooody, crazy makeup doing normal things like checking their phone and eating Cheetos.
My dad Hershel's zombie head was pretty disturbing. Also the bloody stump from when they take off his leg looked so real; they had this pump that would gush more blood through—gross!
I've only had weapons training with John Sanders from props with the guns. I feel like it's okay for Beth to not be perfect with weapons and guns; I mean, she's a farm girl, growing up and learning as she goes. It's not like she's been in the military or something.
