You may recognize this Los Angeles funny man for his famous last name or his striking resemblance to his dad, Damon Wayans Sr., but Damon Jr. is a star in his own right. This multi-talented cutie plays Brad alongside Canadian cover girl, Elisha Cuthbert, in the new comedy, Happy Endings, airing on CityTV. Here’s what you need to know about this one to watch:
Hometown: He was born at his grandma’s house in Vermont but grew up in Los Angeles
Stage Name: Wayans used to do stand-up comedy under the pseudonym, Kyle Green (his middle name and Grandma’s maiden name) to avoid comparisons with his other famous, funny family members. (Keenan Ivory, Damon, Shawn, Marlon and Kim Wayans all starred in the hit ’90s sketch comedy show, In Living Colour.)
Family Matters: At 18, Wayans worked as a Personal Assistant on his dad’s show, My Wife and Kids, but he got fired because he came home late one Saturday night. (He was later re-hired as a staff writer for the show and made some bit appearances.)
Film Debut: At age 11 he played “Young Kevin” in Blankman, which his father
wrote and starred in.
Funniest Family Member: Wayans thinks his dad and his uncles Keenan, Marlon and Shawn Wayans are funny but he says, “Out of all of them the funniest Wayans, to me, is my grandma.” – Regan Reid
