Current Flare cover girl Keira Knightley stopped by the Ellen show while to promote her new film, Anna Karenina. During the interview, the actress confessed to Ellen Degeneres that she had to turn to the Internet to find out what planning a wedding involves.
Knightley, who announced her engagement to Klaxons keyboardist James Righton this past May, said, “I’m just not one of those girls that’s had the kind of fantasy wedding thing. So we haven’t planned anything and it’s all quite terrifying and I sort of looked up on the Internet, ‘if you’re getting married what should you do?'”
The British actress also mentioned that she finds the idea of bridal tea parties baffling. “I’ve never had a tea party in my life. So the idea that you should suddenly have a tea party because you’re getting married, just really confused me.”
Lo and behold, Degeneres pulled out all the stops to throw Knightley her very own bridal tea party, complete with over-the-top ninetieth century wigs, china teacups, and fake British accents (for DeGeneres anyways). “Cheerio, my fair lady,” joked DeGeneres.
“That was a beautiful thing,” remarked Knightley.
Even if Knightley doesn’t throw a proper bridal tea party for herself, at least she will always have this memory to cherish.
