The TIFF red carpet rumble continued Tuesday night with yet another couture entry from Diane Kruger. Rachel McAdams went for a tuxedo look, while Marisa Tomei picked a maxi dress.
Diane Kruger’s run of outfits during this year’s Cannes Film Festival was one for the books, but she’s no slouch at TIFF either. The actress wore a couture dress from Valentino to support boyfriend Joshua Jackson at the premiere of Ruba Nadda’s Inescapable. The dress looks like a pretty straightforward case of black skirt and leopard print top, but up close, the print is revealed to be made of sequins and jewels, crossed with stripes of fur. Kruger had her hair pulled up into a topknot to balance out the pattern and keep the focus on her stunning face.
Also on the Inescapable red carpet, Marisa Tomei made an usual choice in the green maxi dress from Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders. The silhouette has a caftan-ish feel and the pattern reminds us a bit of the tile we chose for our bathroom reno, but there’s something about the actress’s ease–and simple golden accessories–that let her pull it off.
Rachel McAdams steered away from gowns for last night’s Passion premiere. The Canadian went with a tuxedo ensemble with a high halter neckline from Elie Saab. For as many times as we’ve seen it, there’s something undeniably cool about a women in a tux and the jewelled “tie” negates the need for big-time jewellery.
