The red carpet hit critical mass on Day 2 of TIFF with a flush of premieres and parties. From the dozens of celebs dotting the city, we’ve winnowed down a few contenders for best dressed of the night.

Cementing her status at the teenager with the style adult women envy most is Elle Fanning, who wore a purple patterned Miu Miu suit at the Ginger & Rosa premiere. The dandy-ish look is a fun choice for the 14-year-old actress, who’s too old for little girl dresses and still a few years away (hopefully) from dramatic evening wear. Fanning is cementing her status as the teen girl with the style adult women envy most.

Definitely not dressed like a teenager was Olga Kurylenko. The Seven Psychopaths star looked statuesque in a black column gown slit up to here and down to there at the film’s TIFF premiere.

Continuing the couture streak at TIFF is Keira Knightley, who donned a black lace Elie Saab gown for the Anna Karenina premiere. The light-as-air frock wasn’t the most surprising choice for the British actress–delicate dresses are her M.O.–but we saw this look in person and it was stunning.

Selena Gomez wore an OTT Marchesa dress to the premiere of Spring Breakers, but we much prefer the leopard print Dolce & Gabbana sheath she wore to the afternoon photocall–pictured here with Vanessa Hudgens and the rest of the cast. It’s simple, streamlined and sexy: Gomez is a knockout.
