She makes us laugh with her dry sarcasm on Parks and Recreation, but now she’s about to make you cry with closet envy. Comedian-turned-actress Aubrey Plaza is starring in a new short film for Miu Miu, titled It’s Getting Late.
The film follows four women (Plaza, Patricia Clarkson, Gemma Arterton and Rinko Kikuchi) as they prepare for a big night out in Hollywood — wearing head-to-toe Miu Miu, of course. The fashion film will open this year’s Venice Film Festival on Friday, August 30, and is the fourth installment of Miu Miu’s The Women’s Tales series (the three other films can be viewed here).
While Plaza is certainly not your typical choice, it’s not a shocking one for Miu Miu: the brand is known for picking eccentric celebs as their face (Chloe Sevigny is their latest campaign star, hello!). And while Plaza will most likely make us laugh, we personally can’t wait to see her play up her glamorous side. – Christian Allaire
