Watch out Willow Smith and Suri Cruise: there’s a new child star in town. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter Vivienne is set to star in Maleficent, a reworked version of Sleeping Beauty, alongside her mother.
The four-year-old (who is the youngest of Brangelina’s six children and twin to brother Knox) will play a young Princess Aurora in the film, which stars Jolie as the princess’ evil nemesis, Maleficent. Elle Fanning will play the grown-up Princess Aurora. But this isn’t the first time a Brangelina spawn has made it onto the big screen: six-year-old Shiloh made an appearance in Pitt’s film The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
“It’s a really great script,” Jolie said of the role. “I’m having a lot of fun. I’ve already got my horns fitted. We’re still figuring out the look. We’re experimenting with different things. But the horns are the horns – you can’t deny them. You have to have horns.” The film drops on March 14, 2014 (a long wait, we know!). – Christian Allaire
Update: It looks like Disney’s Maleficent has become a family affair for the Jolie-Pitt clan! Us Weekly is reporting that Jolie-Pitt kids Pax and Zahara will join mom Angelina Jolie and younger sister Vivienne on-screen for the fairytale flick.
According to sources, Pax, 8, and Zahara, 7, will have small parts in the live-action re-imagining of Sleeping Beauty. Six-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was also supposed to have a small role, but didn’t make it into the film because she “was bored and not in the mood” on the day of shooting.
So far, there is no word on what roles Pax and Zahara will play.
