September 9: Maisie Williams, Elle Fanning, Douglas Booth and Bel Powley at the Mary Shelley cocktail party at RBC House
The movie: Mary Shelley
The chic locale: RBC House
The stars in attendance: The stunning Elle Fanning was in attendance along with her costars Douglas Booth, Bel Powley and the girl who has no name, Maisie Williams. Jamie Dornan also dropped by earlier in the evening but had already left before I was able to catch a glimpse of Christian Grey.
The scene: Cozy, industrial interior setting with acoustic jams being played that slowly transitioned to upbeat tracks. The house was packed but the room was spacious, allowing everyone to mix and mingle, so I did. And as soon as I spotted a crowd of people in a corner, I knew that I was in for a treat.
The fanciest drink I sipped: Tbh, I’m clueless when it comes to ordering fancy drinks so I had to pretend I know a thing or two and said, “Sparkling wine please!” The drinks were unlimited if that’s worth mentioning, but I stopped after a few rounds as my inner self was telling me to keep it together.
The swankiest appy I ate: There were tiny burger sliders and bacon-wrapped dates being served but I had to pass when I was offered. Because duh, I was busy eyeing all the A-list celebs and snacks, if you know what I mean.
The biggest star I shared the same air as: Maisie Williams, obvs! My personal agenda for being there was to get real close to her and tell her that she can slit my throat anytime. Unfortunately, I failed because before doing so, Maisie and her costars had already left to attend InStyle’s after-party. I also hoped I might get close to Douglas Booth juuuuust in case someone shoved me and I accidentally bumped into him, so I could say “Oh, I’m so sorry, I didn’t see you there,” followed by a dainty chuckle. But alas, no such luck. #SADLIFE
The most industry thing I overheard: Guest: “Would I be able to take a picture with you?” Personality: *Raises index finger* “One second.”
