The Strokes confirm without a doubt that they are alive and well

For months it’s been confirmed that The Strokes will release a new album in 2011 (the timing is currently set for March), but last night in Chicago the band took the stage confirming without a doubt that they are not only back, but bigger and better than ever.

It was arguably the biggest show of their careers and they killed it. This was not a production (Lady Gaga had that covered on the opposite Lollapalooza stage), this was a rock concert. The sounds was crisp and loud and the crowd reacted to every note with adoring enthusiasm. Plus lead singer Julian Casablancas (whose father is modeling agency CEO John Casablancas, by the way) looked every part a rock God in a studded leather jacket, white high top pumps, and thick dark sunglasses. Plus the new neon streak of yellow in his hair shouldn’t have, but somehow managed to up the cool factor even more. (Warn your BFs, this trendsetter likely just started something…)

Heading back to the festival grounds to report back on street style and the day’s hottest acts (Canada’s rock phenom, Metric, are sure to give me something to talk about!)

In the meantime, follow my day on twitter.
