He shoots! He … misses. Turns out Prince William is not too handy with a hockey stick. Wills and Kate were in Yellowknife yesterday and the royal duo participated in a little road hockey match with the locals. Well, Kate dropped the ball to get the match going and then watched from the sidelines, but we don’t blame her. The Duchess was wearing a beautiful cream Malene Birger dress and heels – not exactly road hockey gear.
Before taking his first shot on net, the Prince told the 20-year-old goaltender, Calvin Lomen, “Let this go in.” Maybe Lomen didn’t hear him. Wills was denied two goals before playfully telling the goalie, “Top left corner.” Unfortunately, he missed the net completely. It looks like the Prince should stick to flying helicopters and leave hockey to the Canadians.
On Wednesday, the Royals visited Slave Lake, Alberta before heading to Calgary to launch the Calgary stampede.
